Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay Brodie was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn MacKay, born into the Mormon Church's original family, applied her brilliant literary skills and impressive research skills in order to produce the psycho-historical biographies of Joseph Smith. The book called No Man is a Master of My History was published in 1945. The title was an inspiration for a funeral sermon given in 1844 by the Church of Latter-Day Saints founder Joseph Smith. In that sermon he stated: "You do not know the person I am, and have not seen my soul." No one knows about my past. I'm not able to tell my story. Fawn 29, who was 29 was a writer. Fawn has taken his place as a writer from that point on. Many have abhorred him and others have deified. A few have even made the diagnosis. The documents are not there, but that they're so inconsistent. To assemble the documents -and separate the firsthand accounts from thirdhand plagiarism, and finally, to put Mormon and non Mormon narratives together into a credible mosaic is no simple task. I find it both fascinating as well as fascinating. Fawn Brodie's professional life was dedicated to this goal. Thaddeus Steves became a worldwide celebrity as a result of her research and her writing. "The Devil's Road" (1959) The Southern Scourge. Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate historical history (1974).
