Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a TV host, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. She moved out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to hold the position of president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform for voice which offered critiques of political scenarios. It was possible for her to recruit numerous prominent contributors to post their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position on their list and in the same year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are journalist and management consultants. They were very close to her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother that has shaped her. As a child, she showed leadership traits which she is still renowned for. When she was 16 she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on TV. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's assistance.
